10 Things Ronda Rousey Must Do To Regain Her UFC Title

4. Keep Her Chin Tucked

Ronda Rousey's approach to fighting Holly Holm was to rush in at her swinging wild, looping punches, head high, arms down. Now, while MMA fighters often have their arms lower than traditional boxers due to the threat of a takedown, the chin still needs to be tucked. You also have to be aware of your opponent and defend accordingly. Holly Holm isn't exactly a huge takedown threat, after all - though she did actually take Rousey down at one point in their fight. Still, Rousey's defensive game requires as much work as her striking. She took way too much damage in the first round of their fight at UFC 193, which is what led to her being finished in the second. She cannot make the same mistake in the rematch - it would potentially be a fight ending error. This sort of behavior is relatively easy to correct in the gym through repetitive training and sparring, so it's shocking to see a world class fighter displaying these traits. However, in the past, most of Rousey's fights didn't last long enough for most of us to notice these flaws.
