This might seem like lambs to the slaughter, but it's sort of a throwback to my University days, where we would have Frosh vs. Alumni drinking competitions (I should probably put some sort of disclaimer in here saying about how we shouldn't condone alcohol abuse, drink responsibly, etc. Moving on...). In any case, like the previous scenario, you've got a group of established names, only this time, the added curiosity factor of "Do the vets still have it?" / "Are the rookies as good as we think they are?" This sort of season would rely on signing some prospects with serious upside, and that might be the main difficulty - the best prospects tend to bypass TUF altogether, and sign directly with the UFC. Some sort of monetary bonus beyond the 100K contract waiting at the end of the show might be in order for this scenario to really pan out, but it's not as if the UFC is hurting for funds. You can also make things even more interesting. Sure, you could bring back the likes of Dennis Hallman, or Melvin Guillard, for the vet side - guys who are outside the UFC but could possibly make it again. Or - how about putting active UFC fighters on the show? Just a thought.
