2. Marco Reus

Wage: £65,000

Borussia Dortmund must be applauded - not only are they slumped in the bottom three of the Bundesliga, with a host of top-class and coveted players within their ranks, including one or two World Cup winners, but they still refuse to abandon their principles and break their wage structure to fend off interest from abroad. While they might not have much of a leg to stand on with regards to keeping certain stars at the club, their players seem happy despite their relatively modest income. Marco Reus would be considered one of the most potent forwards in world football and if he so wished, he could have his pick of a host of elite clubs and earn skywards of £100,000k p/wk. Instead, however, he has consistently elected to remain with the German outfit and take home his £65k each week. A noble decision, one might say. But if they keep losing games, how long until he cracks?
