15 Most Shockingly Underpaid Footballers

11. Calum Chambers

Wage: £10,000

Having an unhealthy imbalance of pay in a dressing-room can lead to a toxic atmosphere, one would think. For example, it will take Calum Chambers the entire season to make what Mezut Ozil has earned in the three months he has spent in the treatment room. Even when the German midfielder is fit, he hardly looks as if he busts a gut to warrant the £140k that the Arsenal board of directors grant him every week. Chambers is just a kid, however, and for now he will just be happy that he has been given a chance at a top club. £10k a week is not a lot in Premier League football terms, and when he looks across the dressing-room and sees the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Danny Welbeck and Ozil clad in expensive and flash gear that the club dished out for, Chambers might feel slightly short-changed especially considering his impressive performances.
