20 Best Ever Posterizing NBA Dunks

Michael Jordan, Vince Carter, LeBron James, Blake Griffin and Kobe Bryant - they're all here.

Posterized: when an offensive player athletically and emphatically slam-dunks the ball over an opponent in such a way that will prove their superiority, embarrass the defensive player, and warrant printing on a poster to immortalise the moment. There's a common perception that being big and tall makes it easy to play basketball, I wouldn't call it a misperception, but sometimes it's just not that fun. Throughout their careers, the biggest and baddest players in the NBA - such as Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon and Yao Ming - have been targeted as guys to dunk on. Michael Jordan, Vince Carter, LeBron James, Blake Griffin and Kobe Bryant were, and are, all athletic freaks of nature. These guys seemed to have a list of big men they must dunk on before their respective careers are over. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, it's bloody spectacular. For non-Americans or those new to the sport, watching the NBA can be tedious, with constant stoppages and timeouts which are nonexistent in sports on the Eastern side of the Atlantic. It can be frustrating, but when you see a defy gravity to humiliate an opponent in electrifying fashion, it's oh so worth it. Without further ado, here are 20 of the most thunderous posterizing dunks from the NBA...

20. Tracey McGrady Explodes On Shawn Bradley

Shawn Bradley, a huge 7ft 6in tall, was notorious for being dunked on throughout his NBA career. Generally speaking, guys playing at the center position are around 7ft, making Bradley much taller than most opponents. Despite his size, he wasn't the most effective when it came to protecting the rim. Everyone wanted to dunk on the monster. Of all the posters Shawn Bradley managed to get on, Tracy McGrady's is by far the most entertaining. In the 2005 NBA play-offs, Houston Rocket's McGrady saw the Dallas Maverick's big-man prowling the paint like some prehistoric dinosaur, and decided to drop a bomb that would annihilate the species.

19. LeBron James Introduces Himself To Damon Jones

Anyone who's seen LeBron James play basketball, will not that he's just not normal. It's simply not fair to be 6ft 8in, 250 pounds, and as fast as he is. Most people know to just get out of the way when they see him coming, aware of their limitations and his boundless power. However, it was 2005, and apparently no one had informed the Miami Heat's Damon Jones. Lebron was just 20 years old when the naive Damon Jones attempted to rise with him at the rim, with, well, let's just say not very good results. The next year, Jones joined LeBron's Cleveland Cavaliers. I wonder if he ever looked him in the eyes, or was it too painful?
