Henrik Larsson is heralded by Celtic fans as the greatest striker to ever play in the Scottish Premier League, but the stats of one Kris Boyd pop that little bubble. Yes, Larsson was a far better technical player than Boyd, but the Scotsman's goal scoring record is far superior to his Swedish counterpart, something which must get right up the noses of many. Ally McCoist may have been terrible as Rangers manager, but he is still the club's best ever goal scorer, with 355 strikes between 1983-1998 to his name. There are 251 league goals in that tally, which still stands tall above everyone else, but in terms of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Premiership, nobody has hit the back of the net more times than Kris Boyd. Henrik Larsson has 158 goals to his credit, but Boyd has a staggering 186 strikes, some coming during his spells at Kilmarnock, but most of them falling during his first tenure at Rangers. Boyd broke Larsson's record by scoring 5 goals during a 7-1 thumping of Dundee United at Ibrox in December, 2009, and whilst he had a poor season during his most recent campaign at Ibrox, the big man can look back fondly on a list of goals that is the envy of every other striker in Scotland.
