Its official, God€™s favorite sports movie is Major League! Nick Swisher (Right Fielder) and the Tribe have made a splash thus far in the young season. The team ranks in the top five in most offensive categories, and a solid defense that features a guy people should know about named Asdrubal Cabrera at short stop. He does have 3 errors on the season, but his fielding range, arm strength and accuracy can€™t be denied. There is good reason to believe that we€™re talking about a perennial Gold Glover in the making. There are a few naysayers that point to the team€™s pitching staff not exactly setting the world on fire, but I think Cleveland and its fans will take forcing opponents to score a ton of runs in order to win. Detroit used to be an afterthought for a better part of a decade, but then the organization decided that enough was enough and put together a 5 year plan to turn things around, that was about 7 years ago and now Detroit being in the playoffs and contending for the World Series title is an expectation. Boasting the best pitcher in baseball (Justin Verlander) alongside baseballs best hitter (I love Mike Trout too, but c€™mon) Miguel Cabrera, who looks like he might feel like earning back to back Triple Crown€™s. As if that wasn€™t enough they have Prince Fielder making their roster somewhat unfair to opposing pitchers. Kansas City is technically a surprise, however third place at this point loses its luster when 2 games under .500 is added to the mix. Their position in the division has more to do with Minnesota€™s playoff window looking to be firmly closed shut. Somewhere Tori Hunter is smiling (Ha! Minnesota is at Detroit where Hunter is playing at the time this article is being written).
