Spiros Louis is an Olympic stadium built in Athens, Greece in 1982. This stadium lived its best days between 1982 and 1995. However, after failing to host the 1996 Summer Olympics, the unique stadium was updated in 2004 for 285 million euros, when a hydraulic rooftop was installed. Following this, Spiros Louis was used for many major sporting events like the 2007 UEFA Champions League Final , and 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games. The venue is now popular with international artists. A U2 performance in this stadium gathered the biggest crowd ever recorded in Greece, an attendance of almost 83 thousand people.
