5 Main Card Predictions For UFC 175

4. Uriah Hall vs. Thiago Santos

Weight Class: Middleweight This fight is do or die for Uriah Hall (8-4). He may not be cut with a loss (though it's very possible), but a loss would definitely label him a complete bust in the eyes of UFC fans. Hall was hyped up as a killer on season 17 of The Ultimate Fighter by UFC president Dana White. He sent three fighters to hospital during the show's run. He scored a devastating spinning heel kick knockout over Adam Cella that was literally scary to watch (video above). Then he lost the TUF 17 finale to Kelvin Gastelum in an uninspired fight that saw him outworked and out-wrestled. He lost his follow-up fight John Howard in a manner that seemed almost... lackadaisical. He didn't seem to even be in the fight. Didn't seem to be trying. Looked to be coasting. He did come back to retire Chris Leben, but I want to be clear: Leben probably shouldn't have been in that fight. I hope for Leben's sake that he finds a decent post-MMA career and can get past some of his demons, but he was well past his best years in that fight, as he'd already sacrificed his body in wars for the fans. So here's the actual moment of truth. Thiago Santos (9-2) has split his two fights thus far in the UFC. He has knockout power, and he's not at the end of his run, but rather just getting started. I expect Hall to win this, by TKO in or before the second. If he doesn't, that's probably the door closed on any real shot at going far in the UFC, even if he's not cut.
