5 Main Card Predictions For UFC 175

2. Ronda Rousey (C) vs. Alexis Davis

Weight Class: Bantamweight I want to find a way for Alexis Davis (16-5) to win this bout. I really do. Ronda Rousey (9-0) is the most imposing, impressive fighter in the UFC's women's bantamweight division, but I've never been sold on her personality. Plus, she beat Miesha Tate twice, and I'm a huge Cupcake fan. So I really, really want Davis to pull off the upset here. The problem is, I just don't see how. Davis is on a 5-fight win streak, and has won all of her Invicta and UFC fights. She hasn't lost since a March 2012 loss to Sarah Kaufman in Strikeforce, a decision, and she hasn't been stopped since 2009. A jiu-jitsu fighter with two black belts (in Japanese and Brazilian jiu-jitsu), she has seven submissions to just two TKO wins on her record. And no matter what, I really can't see how she beats a Rousey arm-bar. So trade on the feet, you say? Well Rousey has showed much improved striking of late, so that may not be a good idea either. Eight of Rousey's nine wins have come by way of arm-bar; her last win, over Sara McMann, was her first TKO. I expect Rousey to go back to her reliable trademark when push comes to shove. Rousey via arm-bar in the first.
