The NSAC likely can't officially take this into consideration, but lets face it: TRT-fuelled Belfort has been destroying guys in a way that pre-TRT Belfort was not, and you have to wonder at what point issues of fairness and fighter safety come into play. No, TRT and other performance enhancing drugs don't teach you how to throw spinning back kicks or any other number of flashy moves, but they do give you the energy and longevity to train harder, longer. Some substances (and to be clear not all of these are substances linked to Belfort), like EPO, increase oxygen levels in the blood. TRT of course ups testosterone, and then there's the traditional steroids that we think of, used to bulk up - in any case, Belfort in his TRT days sure looked like he was on -something- TRT or otherwise. He looked jacked, he was hurting guys - but was it him, or was it the drugs? We'll find out in December.
