For years pre-season football was what it was. Pre-season. No one got together and BBQ'd to celebrate pre-season football. Just like no one cares about spring training games in the MLB. No other sport has gotten people to believe that pre-season matters. I still believe it doesn't do anything for the sport. And here's why.
5. Fans Pay Full Price
Even though there is no actual reason for pre-season football and fans won't get professional level play, they still pay full price for everything. Yep. Full price for tickets, parking, drinks and food. The fans watch a sub-par game and get s**t treatment from the NFL owners. The pre-season is just another reason to price gouge the fans. When a typical day at the stadium can run you around $200.00 for 2 people during the regular season, then pre-season scrimmage shouldn't cost a fan more than $50.00 for a sub-par performance at a game that doesn't even matter.
