The relegation battle is notoriously challenging in the Premier League and it's usually extremely tight at the bottom. However this year it's something else as it's shaping up to be the most interesting season at the bottom of the league ever. Only eight points separate bottom of the table Fulham from tenth spot in the league, while Sunderland have showed a few decent results can propel you up the table. Stoke City were hovering just above the relegation places before their dramatic win over Manchester United, which has given them a three point cushion over the relegation places. That said, it can all change in a blink of the eye. A couple of poor results will put the Potters right back in the danger zone and their form this season suggests its likely that they'll find themselves in real danger again. They've only won six games all season and while two of these victories have come against Manchester United and Chelsea, it's clear that these weren't a true reflection of the clubs real status.
