5 Upcoming MMA Fights We Wish Were In The Big Leagues

5. Dave Herman vs. Walt Harris

Dave "Peewee" Herman had an auspicious start to his UFC career, winning a Fight of the Night battle against John-Olav Einemo at UFC 131 in June of 2011. Unfortunately, he would subsequently find himself on a four fight slide, and wind up cut from the promotion at that point (that slide also included a positive test for marijuana). The fighter, who claimed he didn't believe that jiu-jitsu worked only to be submitted by Big Nog, finally picked up his first win since 2011 against Kalib Starnes at Titan FC 28 in May of this year. He was then set to face fellow UFC washout Walt Harris later this month, but a back injury to Harris has delayed the fight til November. Why do we care? Herman is still a 22€“6 fighter in a heavyweight division strapped for talent. He's an odd duck, claiming that he only trained weights for the Harris fight, and that's on top of his BJJ doesn't work belief. Harris, meanwhile, had a quick run in the UFC, going 0-2, but he has since picked up a win over D.J. Linderman, and at 7-3 and only fighting pro since 2011, he has room to blossom yet. Titan FC has announced that they may set this as a title bout as they have no current heavyweight champion.
