Injury problems have really hit Newcastle's defence hard this season, ruling out the two Taylors for long periods and putting the back four into a constant state of flux. This problem could be further augmented if Coloccini leaves the club, as I have already mentioned. The signing of right back Mathieu Debuchy is a positive, however Debuchy's tendency to get forward could leave Newcastle exposed on the counter. If Newcastle can keep a steady back four together, and maybe put a bit of extra work in on the training ground then they should be able to build a good foundation for their attacking players to build on
