35. Ad Break Absurdity

Few sporting events are so synonymous with something so irrelevant to the match at hand as the Super Bowl and its absurd array of adverts. With the Big Game drawing easily the year's large television audience (well over 100 million viewers) it's only natural that the multinationals should pull out their Sunday best when it comes to marketing at the 'Bowl. Thankfully for ad fans, this means you can expect everything from the intriguing to the controversial, the side-splitting to the strange. According to CBS, a 30-second slot between plays will set firms back a tasty US$5million, so it's fair to assume they'll have their best creative efforts ready to keep fans stuck to screens instead of rushing to the kitchen for a popcorn refill.
