6 Predictions For UFC 194

Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo finally meet!

By Jay Anderson /

UFC 193 proved to be one of the most shocking events in the promotion's history, as the company's biggest star (and biggest draw), Ronda Rousey, lost her women's bantamweight title in a shock upset against Holly Holm. Now, just weeks later, one of the most anticipated fights in UFC history goes down when the man who is arguably the UFC's second biggest star at this point, Ireland's Conor McGregor, takes on Jose Aldo for the UFC featherweight championship. This is a fight that was supposed to happen at UFC 189, which had a multi-nation whirlwind press tour take place ahead of it, only for Aldo to pull out with a rib injury. McGregor would accept a last minute replacement in the form of Chad Mendes, the consensus number one contender at the time, and win the interim featherweight title by second round knockout. Now that Aldo has healed up, UFC fans finally get to see the two men - now both champions - square off. Not only that, middleweight champion Chris Weidman, the man who dethroned Anderson Silva, will also appear, taking on Luke Rockhold, who represents his toughest challenge to date. Elsewhere on this fantastic card, Jacare Souza takes on Yoel Romero in a potential number one contender's match for the winner of Weidman/Rockhold, Demaian Maia takes on Gunnar Nelson in a ground game showcase, and Max Holloway looks to continue his rise to the top against Jeremy Stephens. Who wins? Who loses? Lets take a look!
