Conor McGregor is one of the world's most problematic sportsmen, and even though this has gotten the Dublin-born fighter in a lot of trouble over the years, it's hard to argue how entertaining this is for us fans - even if he is still pushing past ongoing court-cases.

As we all know, Conor McGregor suffered a disappointing one-sided defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in his last outing, and since then, fans can't help but speculate as to what the Irish superstar will do next.

Even after losing his two previous competitive fights, McGregor remains one of the most talked about athletes in UFC, and his high profile gives him a lot of tempting options for his next career move.

7. Dustin Poirier Rematch

We are starting off this list with the most recent rumour surrounding Conor McGregor's near-future. According to reports, Dana White has stated his interest in a possible rematch between the ex-UFC champ-champ and in-form Lightweight contender, Dustin Poirier.

The two previously met back at UFC 178 in 2014, when McGregor got his hand raised after an impressive knockout victory over his opponent. Throughout the buildup to the fight, both McGregor and Poirier shared harsh words, and although this isn't an unusual occurrence when "The Notorious" is competing, it seemed as if Dustin's hatred for Conor wasn't just a temporary feeling, as he told his coach, "I have never disliked anyone as much as him," during a pre-fight UFC Embedded appearance.

Although neither athlete has spoken out on these rumours, we could possibly see this one going down as a title eliminator, with the winner getting a shot at UFC gold next, whether the throne is still being held by Khabib or any other Lightweight contender.
