7 UFC Fighters Who Are Bound For The Hall Of Fame

By Chris Turner /

4. Frank Mir (MMA Record: 16-9)

When you think of some of the most notable Heavyweight fighters to have ever set foot in a UFC cage, two names sit at the top of the list: Randy Couture and Frank Mir. Couture is already a Hall of Famer, and Mir will not be far behind him. Since joining the UFC in 2001, he has become one of the most diverse fighters at Heavyweight, precise and powerful striking accompanied with Dangerous Submission skills propelled him to the top of the Heavyweight ladder, right into a Championship fight with Tim Sylvia. Less than a minute into the fight, Mir locked into an armbar, but the Champ wouldn't tap, with the stoppage only coming from Herb Dean when he saw Sylvia's arm snap at :50 to end it all. Mir wouldn't be able to defend his title after a motorcycle accident sidelined him for over a year. Upon his return, he wasn't able to achieve the same success before his accident, but he still fights for the UFC today, and is the epitome of what a Journeyman of Mixed Martial Arts should be.
