As the NFL struggles with the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson abuse scandals (with Jonathan Dwyer being the most recent player arrested for domestic violence), and the controversy over players like Wes Welker being accused of drug us, we should keep in mind that it is far from the only league embroiled in such scandals. The UFC has been rife with scandal this year, from performance enhancing drug cases to a recent plague of domestic violence incidents. How the promotion has responded to these controversies has been uneven at best. Lesser known fighters are quickly cut, while big names often avoid any punishment at all - just ask Vitor Belfort, who went from a failed drug test to a title shot against middleweight champion Chris Weidman. Belfort is far from the worst offender on the list, however. If we're being honest, the number one offender is the UFC itself, for not doing a better job of screening and disciplining its employees. However, that aside, there are plenty of other offenders to look at. So lets take a sombre look at eight figher scandals that rocked the UFC in 2014 (and keep in mind, the year's not over).
