Dean Holdsworth's men beat Rochdale in Round Three of the Carling Cup and as a result they now face Premier League outfit Manchester United. A truly one off occassion for Aldershot supporters; the atmosphere should be electric down at the Recreation Ground. Sir Alex Ferguson's deeply wounded Manchester United head into this Carling Cup tie after suffering from a thumping from rivals Manchester City in which they lost 6-1, at Old Trafford. The Red Devils will be wanting to put that massive defeat in closed doors and be focusing on the important Carling Cup clash. United beat Leeds United in Round Three. Michael Owen netted twice and Ryan Giggs scored the third for the visitors in what was supposed to be a weak second team. Of course, Aldershot are the underdogs but Ferguson's men should not underestimate their opponents this evening as they do possess some dangerous figures. Aldershot Team News Aldershot have no injury worries ahead of Tuesday's Carling Cup match. Adam Smith, who is loan loan at the moment, is likely to start up top as he made his full debut against Dagenham on the weekend. Manchester United Team News United are expected to rest several first-team players but Michael Owen, who scored twice in Man Utd's last Carling Cup match with Leeds, and high earners Dimitar Berbatov, Antonio Valencia and Michael Carrick could feature. But the injured Ryan Giggs looks unlikely to play, while Northern Ireland centre-back Jonny Evans is suspended after being sent off against Manchester City.
