Arsenal knocked North London neighbours Tottenham Hotspur out of the FA Cup in the tie of the third round. Santi Cazorla and Tomas Rosicky were on target for the Premier League leaders. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger met yet another different Spurs boss in Tim Sherwood here as the hosts continue to hog bragging rights in this rivalry. Arsenal made four changes from the late home win over Cardiff City. Wenger rested number one Wojciech Szczesny completed whilst Per Mertesacker and Mathieu Flamini began on the bench. Lukas Podolski was also amongst the substitutes. Lukasz Fabianski, Serge Gnabry, Rosicky and Thomas Vermaelen made starts. Hotspur head coach Sherwood gave teenager Nabil Bentaleb his full debut in place of Etienne Capoue. Otherwise he fielded the same XI that began the 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on New Year's Day. This North London derby was not without casualties, however. Theo Walcott was stretchered off late on after Wenger had made all three available substitutions, so the Gunners played out their victory with ten men.
