via Sky Sports). As yet, no official bid is forthcoming, but the former Manchester United defender has said that if a move were to happen, then the player would fit well into the new Barca team that Tito Vilanova is building, as he told El Mundo Deportivo:

I have followed his career and he has become a very good player. He is physically very strong and is good with the ball at his feet. We are open to his arrival. If he comes, and from what I have read he could do, we would love to have him."
Song would presumably rival Sergio Busquets for the defensive midfield position, though he tends to sit deeper when in the holding role, which would offer the Catalan giants a stronger foundation for the rest of the midfield to play their infamous attacking game. Any deal would leave a fairly gaping hole in the Arsenal midfield, with Arsene Wenger already short of recognisable defensive players (though Mikel Arteta can of course play there), and would likely lead to another foray into the market for a similar replacement.
