Arsenal Transfer News: Robin Van Persie Latest
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has once again reiterated his desire for Robin Van Persie to commit his future to the Gunners.
has publically stated that he has no intention of signing an extension to his current contract that runs out in 12 months time. Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus are reportedly all hoping to snatch the striker who was last season's PFA Player of the Year and Premier League's top scorer, for a cut-down price but Arsenal have to date rejected all offers. The veteran French manager however is staying positive that Van Persie, who is valued at around £20 million, may yet stay at Arsenal.
"There is nothing to elaborate. The options are clear - we want to keep our players," he told the club's official website. "I would be happy for him to stay in the English Premier League - at Arsenal."Meanwhile Arsenal are still hoping to conclude some deals in the transfer market and strengthen the squad ahead of the new campaign. They have already brought in strikers Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski but Wenger says he ain't finished yet;
"I won't talk a lot about transfers because it is a very fragile and secret subject," Wenger added. "We bought Giroud and Podolski but we are not at the end of it - we will still bring players in."source - teamtalk
