Many foreign players have gone on to become Arsenal legends, especially under Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman was appointed manager in 1996 and under his tenure Arsenal have experienced an influx of players from abroad. A number of those footballers who have made a big impact at Arsenal are not even included in this top ten list, with the likes of Robin van Persie, Kolo Toure, Lauren, Bacary Sagna, Jens Lehmann, Nicolas Anelka and even more names being excluded. All these players are or have been world class at times in their careers. It wasn't an easy task picking the best ten, but I feel my final choices have that extra ability, class and legendary status that the other players don't possess. So this is my personal top ten of the best foreign talent to have ever worn the Arsenal shirt.
10. Marc Overmars
(Holland. 1997 - 2000. 142 Appearances, 41 Goals)When Marc Overmars joined Arsenal from Ajax in 1997, he arrived with a less than impressive injury record, leaving many Gunners fans questioning the risk of the transfer. But during his three years at Higbury, Overmars enjoyed great success and won over the crowd with his exciting brand of football. Along with his blistering pace, Overmars was strong on the ball with both feet and proved to be a clinical finisher. The Dutchmen became the ultimate winger, terrorising defences up and the down the country. He scored in the 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in 1998, a result that swung the league in Arsenal's favour. He then added two more to his collection in the title-clinching 4-0 win over Everton at Highbury as well as netting in the FA Cup final victory over Newcastle the same season. Eventually leaving Arsenal for Barcelona in 2000, Marc Overmars exited the club as a legend.
