As is usually the way of the transfer deadline day merry-go-round, Sky Sports' Spanish league expert Guillem Balague has given his thoughts on possible deals involving La Liga players and Premier League clubs, and has scotched rumours that German international Sami Khedira could join Arsenal. He would be available on a pre-contract agreement with his current deal running down, but Balague says that though there has been interest, there hasn't been much in concrete terms because of the player's wage demands. Khedira had looked close to an Arsenal move in the summer, but that reported interest didn't progress and the player now seems to be content with the idea of sorting his future out in the summer when he leaves Real Madrid. Balague says that it's now most likely that Khedira - who was instrumental in the German World Cup win this summer - will return to his homeland to sign for Bayern Munich, as his sources close to the player and the club have seemingly confirmed to him. That's a shame for Arsenal, who could have benefited from Khedira's engine and industrious play, but if he has priced himself out of the market with ridiculous demands, then it's probably for the best.
