Appeal: Champions League, huge contract, possible extended success. Negatives: Squad rotation. Thanks to their bulging coffers, Man City will probably appear to be Van Persie's best option to most fans - especially those who believe that the player is in it for the money, as opposed to his professed desire to win silverware. In truth, City can now offer both, with Champions League qualification an almost inherent part of their current power, and a squad that is already well-stocked with international class players and which is likely to be bolstered further before the start of the season. Whether Van Persie would actually command a regular place in the starting line up remains to be seen, with Mario Balotelli, Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez currently occupying the top three rungs of the selection ladder, and Edin Dzeko, Emmanuel Adebayor, Roque Santa Cruz and John Guidetti also still on the books (though likely to be moved on this summer). The player would however join up with some familiar faces - including Samir Nasri, whose sale last year looked to have convinced the Dutchman that Arsenal's ambitions no longer matched his own - and the huge salary he could command would likely sweeten the squad rotation problem for him.
