th consecutive season. For Arsenal fans there is no doubt a huge sense of impending disappointment and for the neutral, who has been watching recent events at the Emirates from afar, a sense of natural inevitability but what did we truly learn from the game?

The old adage that any two legged tie can€™t truly be won in the first leg but can easily be lost seems more pertinent than ever. The side at home in the first leg is desperate not to concede and the side away from home would happily concede a goal (or even two) as long as they could grab a crucial away goal for themselves. In this instance and given Arsenal€™s current frailties the early Munich goal pretty much sealed the fate of Arsene Wenger and his men before they even got going.
