Arsenal Transfer News: Wenger Won't Spend Van Persie Money?
Long-serving Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he will not spend money when he feels the club is operating at a reasonable level.
According to the Sun, long-serving Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he will not spend money when he feels the club is operating at a reasonable level. Even with Arsenals key man Robin Van Persie looking increasingly likely that he will leave the Emirates this summer as he refuses to sign an extension to his contract that runs out in 12 months time, Arsene Wenger admits that he will not waste money.
The Gunners boss defended his tight purse strings strategy and suggested he wouldnt alter his tactics:
"I lost Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Cesc Fabregas at an age where they should have been playing their best football for Arsenal. But I never left the club when I could have. I could have left 10 times to join another club but I didnt because I have worked with the same vision and philosophy at Arsenal for the last 16 years and that wont change."

Van Persie has allegedly been disappointed with the amount of money invested in the club and it seems even spending £24million on Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud wasnt enough to convince the Dutch striker to stay at the club.
Van Persie released a statement last week on why he has decided to not sign another contract with Arsenal and hinted he disagreed with the way the club invested in players:
I had a meeting with the boss but unfortunately it has again become clear to me that we disagree on the way Arsenal should move forward.
Robin Van Persie has been linked with moves to Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus this summer but one club he won't be joining is Paris Saint-Germain. Manager Carlo Ancelotti has told the press that "He is not our target."
