In an extraordinary semi-final match at the Nou Camp, ten man Chelsea knocked out holders Barcelona in the Champions League to progress to the final in Munich next month. Barcelona dominated the match but Chelsea's resilient defending and their desire not to lose saw them withhold everything Europe's best team had to throw at them to win 3-2 on aggregate. Incredible solo efforts from Ramires and Fernando Torres saw Chelsea progress on a night where captain John Terry was sent off for Violent Conduct after kneeing Barca's Alexis Sanchez in the back, completely unprovoked, just before half time. Barca's strikes from Sergio Busquets and Anders Iniesta at one point in the first half looked like they would send the Catalans into the final but it wasn't to be. A second half barrage from Barcelona including a Lionel Messi penalty that hit the bar and a solo effort which hit the post wasn't enough for Barcelona on a night where lady luck was on Chelsea's side. Chelsea will now face the winners of Real Madrid or Bayern Munich who play in their second-leg semi-final match tomorrow night.
