Best Premier League XI Of The Last Decade

11. GK: David De Gea

It's been a long time since Manchester United were the footballing powerhouse most of us grew to love or hate during the nineties and 2000s. If you compare the current team to the squads that Sir Alex Ferguson put together, it's hard to deny that they're a shadow of their former selves.

Although the team has gotten worse since Ferguson retired, the one player that has helped slow down their decline is David de Gea. The talented goalkeeper has been a thorn in the side of many teams, rescuing his defence time and time again by making spectacular saves throughout the season.

Although the United defence has differed in quality over the years, the one consistent part of it has been de Gea, and he's managed to keep them in the top half of the Premier League. While he might not go down as the greatest keeper in the team's history - that accolade belongs to Peter Schmeichel - de Gea definitely deserves all the credit in the world for keeping a sinking ship afloat for a decade.
