After a day of mixed fortunes which saw first choice target Graham Dorrans slip away to Norwich City, but Danny Ings remaining at the club, Burnley are rallying late to bring in a new midfielder to cement their hopes of staying in the Premier League. After seeing a £3m bid for the Scottish player knocked back, their focus has now turned to Nottingham Forest player Henri Lansbury. Burnley tried to sign Lansbury in the summer, but the player went on to sign a new contract at the club. But times have changed at Forest since then: the club are struggling to realise their promotion potential, even with Britt Assombalonga scoring well and Stuart Pearce has been moved on. The player is now the subject of renewed negotiations between the two clubs, and a deal could well be done in the final few hours of the window. He's a very talented player, and Forest plans will be frustrated that they cannot keep hold of the playmaker, which could also be seen as a submission of their promotion hopes under Dougie Freedman before they even begin.
