Chelsea have made enquiries about Russian star Alan Dzagoev, the player's father has confirmed. Dzagoev currently plays for CSKA Moscow and has caught the eye of a number of clubs for his impressive performances at the group stages of Euro 2012 where he scored three goals. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has scored 27 times in over 100 appearances for Moscow since he joined them in 2008 and is growing in confidence with every new season. According to The Daily Mail, Dzagoev's father has also noted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and also from other clubs across Europe. Tariel Dzagoev said;
€œI don€™t know if he will stay at CSKA,€ said his father, Tariel. €œThere are offers €“ from Spurs and other foreign clubs.€ Dzagoev senior also admitted that Chelsea were interested but hinted he was not in favour of such a move. €œI tell him not to hurry. Yury Zhirkov ran off to Chelsea and sat on the bench,€ he added.
Chelsea are in the market for a new midfielder to help supply and get some more goals for Fernando Torres whilst Spurs are looking for a replacement for Luka Modric, who Spurs' hierarchy are certain will leave this summer, perhaps to Real Madrid.
