Chelsea Transfer News: Barca Prepare Final David Luiz Bid

By Alex Peace /

The Mirror. Last week Barcelona had a bid believed to be in the region of £35 million rejected by The Blues but this doesn€™t appear to have put them off. The Catalan club are now set to go back with an even larger bid for the Brazilian international. The offer is believed to be the last Barcelona are prepared to make before they walk away from the deal. Today (Monday) will see David Luiz reportedly sit down with Jose Mourinho for confirmation he is part of his plans. It is expected Mourinho will tell David Luiz he has a big role to play at the club and that he is not for sale at any price. However Barcelona want Luiz to tell Chelsea that he wishes to leave to help push a deal through. After a shaky debut season in the Premier League, Luiz impressed both in central midfield and at centre back last year making 57 appearances in all competitions and managing seven goals. Luiz would suit Barcelona€™s style of playing out from the back and would reinforce a shaky looking backline. He would become the second Brazilian to move to the Nou Camp after compatriot Neymar made the move earlier in the summer. Would Chelsea be stupid not to take this kind of money for Luiz? Or is he too valuable to let leave Stamford Bridge? Thoughts welcome below.
