Chelsea Transfer News: David Luiz Interested In PSG Move

The Sun, Chelsea centre-back David Luiz has admitted he is interested in joining Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. The 26-year-old has been rumoured with a move away from Stamford Bridge ever since Jose Mourinho began his second spell in charge at the club. Luiz has admitted that he has been discussing a transfer to the French club with his Brazilian teammates:

€œI€™m talking a lot about PSG and its project with Brazilian players. The club made a good job in Ligue 1, and there have a very good players like Lucas Moura, Thiago Motta, Maxwell, Thiago Silva.€
The Brazilian played in 30 Premier League games for Chelsea and was also a key player for their Europa league winning campaign last season. The powerful defender is also a regular in the Brazilian squad and was part of his National side's 3-0 win in the Confederations Cup over Japan on Saturday. If Paris Saint-Germain do secure David Luiz, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will have a difficult task in strengthening the defence, especially when considering John Terry is likely playing one of his last seasons. The club have been linked with FC Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala who could well be Luiz's replacement should he leave this summer. Chelsea splashed out £21 million for the centre-back in February 2011 from Portuguese side Benfica and since then Luiz has been a solid member of Chelsea€™s defence. Big spenders Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to sign David Luiz as well as Gareth Bale in hopes of luring Andre Villas-Boas to take over from Carlo Ancelotti who is set to be the next Real Madrid coach. PSG are well known for spending over the odds having spent £142 million last season on players such as Lucas Moura, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thigo Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
