Chelsea Transfer News: Di Matteo To Bid £30m For Marouane Fellaini
Chelsea set to test Everton's resolve with a £30m move for the Belgian.
Daily Mail, Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea are set to test Everton's resolve to keep hold of Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini, with a £30million bid, in the wake of the midfielder being chastised by manager David Moyes this week for comments he made regarding the possibility of him leaving Goodison Park. In a report published by the Liverpool Echo, Moyes issued the player with a severe dressing down after he told reporters that he would consider leaving Everton in January - though he subsequently issued a statement on Facebook to say he is still happy at Goodison:
"We've had a chat about it, and any disciplinary action is between me and him. I do think that sometimes when players go away on international duty their egos are massaged by international journalists and things are said, perhaps because they think they're speaking to different people and they let their guard down a bit. These things happen, and we move on. But where's he going to go? The transfer window is shut! I won't say there's no chance in the next window because everybody is available throughout the world if the offer is right, but one thing I know is the transfer window is closed, so he's not going anywhere right now, and there's three months to the next window, which is a long time. That suggestion that Moyes "won't say no chance in the next window" has been picked up by the Mail as fair indication that the player might be vulnerable if the right offer comes in, and they are quoting £30 million as the figure they expect Chelsea to come in with. Fellaini has started the season well, especially against Manchester United - a game in which the Belgian was easily the best player on the park - and he would make a strong addition to any upwardly mobile team. So what do you think Chelsea fans? Should Roberto Di Matteo shell out £30m for Everton's Belgian midfielder? Share your thoughts below.
