Chelsea Transfer News: Jose Mourinho Makes £35 Million Move For Hulk

By Matt Robinson /

Chelsea have made a £35 million move for Zenit St Petersburg forward Hulk, according to a report in the Daily Mirror, Jose Mourinho, who was appointed manager of Chelsea for the second time earlier this week, has turned his immediate intention to the Brazilian after missing out on the signing of Radamel Falcao, who joined French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco for £50 million. Hulk, 26, was a transfer target of Chelsea last summer but after the Blues could not agree a deal with FC Porto, he joined big spending Russian side Zenit St Petersburg for a fee of around £50 million. Hulk has received boos from parts of the Russian crowd after falling out with Zenit coach, Luciano Spalleti, with Hulk€™s wages seeming to be a key talking point in the argument. In January last year Hulk told the local media:
€œIf the situation with the coach does not resolve itself I may leave the club in the January transfer window."
The powerful striker has clearly not settled down at his new club having played in just five League games. Club wise, Hulk has had a torrid time but internationally speaking the Brazilian has been on the top of his game, scoring six goals in eight starts.
