Chelsea Transfer News: Jose Mourinho Wants To Sell David Luiz To Barcelona For £30 Million?

The Daily Star. Jose, also known as €˜The Special One€™, was confirmed as new Chelsea boss on Monday afternoon by the Stamford Bridge club after weeks of speculation regarding his return to London. The 50-year-old reportedly feels that Brazilian centre-back Luiz doesn't have a future at the Blues and that £30 million in the bank from Barca would constitute too good an offer. Luiz, 26, signed from Portuguese side Benfica for a fee of £21 million back in February 2011 but after just two years at Stamford Bridge his time seems to be up. Chelsea€™s number four has been a key man at the back this season appearing in 30 League games and has had to endure several partners at the back with John Terry, Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovi‡ all playing alongside the defender, showing how adjustable Luiz is. He was also part of the team that won the Champions League last season in May 2012 after defeating Bayern Munich on penalties. Despite Luiz's efforts and popularity with the Chelsea fans, Mourinho is looking to add to his transfer budget early this summer but with John Terry coming to the end of his career, the new Chelsea boss will need to think long term for a new defensive recruit. Chelsea are also keen on shipping out Fernando Torres after another poor Premier League season from the Spaniard in hopes of luring Napoli€™s Edinson Cavani to Stamford Bridge.
