According to ITV Sport, Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala have had a ‚70 million bid rejected for Atletico Madrid star Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian striker scored 24 league goals last season for his Spanish club and became the first player to score 36 goals in all competitions in his debut season, a new club record. Financially stable Anzhi Makhachkala are not the only team interested in the 26-year-old with Chelsea recently linked by the Mail Online to the player. Falcao has begun the new season of La Liga positivity having scored three times in just two games and also performed impressively in the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea which because of his hat-trick Atletico won 4-1. With that ‚70 million bid rejected, Falcao won€™t be joining the likes of Roberto Carlos and Samuel Eto at Anzhi Makhachkala just yet. According to the Guardian, Atletico signed Falcao from Porto for ‚40m (£34.7m) and said in a statement to the Lisbon stock exchange that the price tag could rise up to ‚47m, depending on clauses. The same report stated that Falcao had signed a five year contract at the Spanish club.
