As soon as he is done as pundit for the BBC in Russia for World Cup 2018, Frank Lampard will return to England and take up his first management role with Derby County. As with Steven Gerrard's task at Rangers, Lampard has quite the challenge ahead of him, and will need all the help he can get.

The aim for The Rams next season will be to push for promotion, after falling during the Playoffs for the last two years. This is unlikely to happen without some new additions to the squad, and with Lampard new to the transfer market, he should start with the players he knows the best.

Though he spent time with West Ham, Man City, and New York City, Lampard enjoyed the majority of his career at Chelsea, and is without a doubt a legend of the club. For any potential signings he may make for The Rams, there is no better place to start than Stamford Bridge.

5. Kasey Palmer

Kasey Palmer has already played in the black and white of Derby County, spending the second half of last season on loan at Pride Park. The 21 year old impressed in 14 league appearances operating as an attacking midfielder, and scoring a crucial goal in The Rams' 2-2 draw with Leeds in February.

This was not Palmer's first loan away from Chelsea. The youngster spent the previous season with Huddersfield, making 24 appearances and helping the team earn promotion to the Premier League, but lasted just six months in The Terriers' top flight season before making the switch to Pride Park.

This kind of experience will be invaluable to a promotion chasing club like Derby, particularly since he knows what it takes to make it out of the playoffs smiling. Re-signing Palmer should be a priority for Lampard, especially since there will be competition for his signature from Premier League sides Newcastle and Huddersfield.
