College Football: 6 Quarterbacks Who Will Star In 2014

By Chris Turner /

5. Bryce Petty, Baylor

(2013 Stats: 4,200 passing yards, 62% completion, 32 TDs) Do you remember seeing incredibly high college football scores going across your ticker this fall? This guy might have had something to do with that. Powerful is an understatement when describing the Baylor offense in 2013. You're talking about a team that scored 282 points in their first four games this season. No, that's not me accidentally putting a two in front. That happened. The man behind this crazy offensive attack is Bryce Petty. The junior from Midlothian, Texas took the starting job this year and didn't disappoint, throwing for over 4,000 yards while leading the Bears to a Big 12 championship. Petty's accuracy and efficiency will make it difficult for defenses to adjust, whether it be short, quick passes, or long, deep passes. Petty is most likely a pre-season Heisman candidate, and an impressive 2014 could give Baylor their second winner in three years.
