Cristiano Ronaldo To Return To Man Utd?
Could CR7 make an amazing return to Old Trafford?
sensationally revealed that it is "his wish" to return to Manchester United and that an emotional reunion at Old Trafford is part of his future plans. However, he says he is happy at current club Real Madrid and that he will honour his four year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. Ronaldo spent six successful seasons at United between 2003 and 2009, winning the Premier League and the Champions League during that period, but left for Madrid for a then-word transfer record £80 million. And he has flourished in Spain, scoring 178 La Liga goals from 166 appearances so far. But he admits he has not forgotten the time he spent in Manchester and that he still loves United. Ronaldo was, and still today remains, a cult figure at the Theatre of Dreams and is widely considered one of the club's best ever No.7's. And the Portuguese forward has never disguised his affections for the team where he made his name, either. He said: I love Manchester.
Cristiano Ronaldo has Everyone knows that I have said it many times. Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day. I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there."While Ronaldo's Real won 'La Decima' last season - a tenth European crown - United are struggling. They finished seventh place under former manager David Moyes last season and have also struggled under his successor Louis van Gaal this term, taking just two points from a possible nine against Swansea, Sunderland and Burnley. But Ronaldo thinks things will get better. He Continued:
I really did love being at Manchester United. Believe me, they will be a good team again. Im sure of it. It is a great club. This can happen. Bad moments and good moments, Manchester is passing through a bad moment. Last year it was a horrible season and this year they havent started well either."United have attempted to spend their way back to the big time by splashing out £150 million on new players this summer, bringing in Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind, Radamel Falcao and Ronaldo's former Madrid teammate, Angel Di Maria. And the latter of those two signings get CR7's seal of approval. He concluded:
But I do think they did well to buy (Angel) Di Maria and (Radamel) Falcao. I think the team will be much better. I want to see them better because it is such a fantastic club and they deserve to be better. Falcao is a very good signing. He is a very good player.
