Cristiano Ronaldo Set To Complete £105 Million Juventus Transfer
33-year-old megastar leaves the Bernabeu after nine seasons.
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly on the verge of completing a stunning £105 million club-record move to Italian giants Juventus, according to BBC News.
An official announcement is expected regarding the 33-year-old's switch in a matter of hours as the five-time Ballon d'Or winner ends a nine-year stay at the Bernabeu.
Having joined Real from Manchester United for a then world-record fee of £80 million in 2009, Ronaldo became Los Merengues' all-time top scorer with 451 goals and helped them to win two La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys and four of the past five Champions League tournaments.
Juventus president Andrea Agnelli had visited Ronaldo's hotel room in Greece for discussions, whilst Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes was believed to be meeting Real Madrid to seal the deal.
It's believed new Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui is keen on reshaping the Real side and has been linked with former Barcelona forward Neymar, who currently plays for Paris St-Germain.
Following the news breaking, Madrid released a club statement regarding Ronaldo:-
"Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude to a player who has proved to be the best in the world and who has marked one of the brightest times in the history of our club and world football. Real Madrid will always be your home."
