Euro 2012: England vs Sweden - Live on BBC 1

By Joseph Dempsey /

Venue Olympic Stadium, Kiev Date Friday 15th June K/o 19:45 This clash at the Olympic Stadium is a must win match for both teams, with England being held by France and Sweden losing to the Ukraine in the first round of fixtures. Sweden will be out if the Ukraine pick up a point against France and then fail to beat England. The good news for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and co though is that Sweden are unbeaten against England in seven consecutive competitive meetings. England hadn't beaten Sweden since 1978 until a Garath Barry header was enough to see them off at Wembley in November last year. Garath Barry isn't available tonight though, having pulled out of the tournament with a groin injury. Wayne Rooney meanwhile completes the last of his two match ban. The early indication is that Danny Welbeck and Andy Carroll will be paired up front in his absence. Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker have overcome exhastion and will line up in the centre of England's midfield. Sweden bring in Jonas Olsson at centre back whilst Andreas Granqvist moves to right back. Former Bolton striker Johan Elmander returns to the starting eleven to pair Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front, at the expense of Markus Rosenburg. Sweden's success tonight will lie at the feet of Ibrahimovic, whom England manager Roy Hodgson was quick to identify as England's main threat.

"They are organised as a result of years of work based on English coaching. Their major weapon is Ibrahimovic - he is one of the best strikers in European football."
England meanwhile will hope the absence of Wayne Rooney won't lead to a further shortage of goals - they have scored just once in each of their last three matches.
