Romelu Lukaku could make a surprise transfer deadline move to Everton on a season-long loan, according to Sky Sports News. The big Belgian striker hopes to feature in Jose Mourinho's first team plans, but the recent signing of Samuel Eto'o has seen him fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. Yet the blue half of Merseyside could provide an unlikely solution for the man who lit up West Brom with 19 goals last year despite the loan signing of Gerard Deulofeu, manager Roberto Martinez remains in the market for a forward and Lukaku could fit that bill. Speaking on Sky Sports News, former Everton striker Tony Cottee welcomed the news, believing that if Lukaku wants a consistent run at first team football, a move away from Chelsea might be a good idea. He said:
"I'd like to see that happening he was fantastic last year at West Brom, scored a load of goals and he's a really good player. "Is he going to play for Chelsea? Probably not, so it just depends. Eto'o has arrived at Chelsea, Torres is still there, so Lukaku at Everton would be a fantastic signing, I really think that ... but I think there'll be a lot of juggling in the next three to four hours."
