Everton Transfer News: Marouane Fellaini Could Leave After Headbutt Madness?
Everton's Marouane Fellaini wanted by Chelsea and PSG?
The Guardian. The Belgian international midfielder squared up to Ryan Shawcross on a number of occasions, and at one point even leaned in with a headbutt which wasn't spotted by referee Mark Halsey. Earlier in the game, Fellaini, unhappy with the way Shawcross was man-marking him, directed an elbow at the defender and put a hand in his face. He later issued an apology, though that did not spare him from being berated by manager David Moyes.
"I have told him in the dressing room that it is not acceptable. I won't accept it as a manager that he does that.Fellaini is almost certain to face a retrospective ban for the incident, and Everton may be tempted to listen to offers for the 25 year old, possibly starting somewhere in the region of £30million. Both Chelsea and PSG are said to be interested in the players services. In September, the player himself reportedly told reporters in his own country that he would leave the club either in January or at the end of the current season. Fellaini is quoted to have told Het Nieuwsblad:
"I am just starting my fifth season at Everton, this will be one of my last. I have seen everything. In January or at the end of the season I will turn to another club or championship."However, the player later refuted these claims, writing on his Facebook page at the time:
"I was very surprised to read in some newspapers that I will leave Everton very soon and perhaps next January. Let me remind you that I am very happy in Liverpool and our start of the championship was good. "Kevin Mirallas and some other good players joined us to make a better squad. So with Everton, I am ready to play all the season and to reach our goals of this season."After this latest incident however, he may no longer have a choice in the matter...
