Everton Transfers: Jordan Pickford £30 Million Deal Agreed?
Fee will make 23-year-old Britain's most expensive ever Goalkeeper.
Multiple reports suggest today that Sunderland have provisionally agreed to sell Jordan Pickford to Everton for a whopping £30 million.
The highly rated stopper was a beacon of light for the perpetually doomed Black Cats since breaking into the first team in 2016.
Though the price tag looks high, Everton will consider the move to be a shrewd one in light of Pickford's age and experience in both the Premier League and international set-up.
The Toffees had a bid rejected last week, but their willingness to meet the lofty price tag (£22-25million guaranteed to Sunderland, with add-ons), has expedited talks, with the clubs set to formalise announcements of the deal following Pickford's return form England Under-21 duties in Poland.
At only 23-years-old, he was called into action repeatedly at Sunderland due to the defensive failings of his colleagues over the previous 18 months. Despite missing games through injury over Christmas, statisticians at Opta noted how he'd made more saves in the Premier League last season than any other keeper, such was the unending plight of The Black Cats.
The deal would make him the world's third most expensive Goalkeeper, and the priciest British shot-stopper of all time.
