All around the world, football fans are gearing up for the new Premier League season and assembling their fantasy squads in search of their own personal glory. While many fantasy managers will be focusing on established Premier League players to make up their sides, it can actually prove beneficial to take a look at the lower-ranked sides, especially the promoted teams.

Players with Wolves, Cardiff, and Fulham will all be eager to make their mark on the top flight and promoted sides often spring some big surprises, especially in the early weeks of the season as their motivation levels are higher than ever.

The promoted teams take nothing for granted, knowing that they'll have to fight for every single point, and they'll be looking to their own stars to lead the way. This year, there are some really talented individuals entering the Premier League and these players could provide some mega fantasy points for relatively low investments.

5. Sean Morrison (Cardiff)

Last summer, Sheffield Wednesday offered £3 million for Cardiff's central defender Sean Morrison. Cardiff boss Neil Warnock laughed off the offer, saying it "wouldn't even buy one of Morrison's legs". Warnock's decision to hold onto the defender proved a shrewd one as Morrison went on to score 7 goals in 39 Championship games and earn himself Cardiff's Player of the Year award.

Goalscoring central defenders are hard to come by but can prove highly profitable in Fantasy Premier League and Morrison certainly fits the bill, having netted 20 times for Cardiff over the last four seasons. The 6 foot 4 giant is a huge threat from corners and free kicks, and is also a big leader for his team.

Cardiff are expected to struggle in the Premier League so men like Morrison will need to be stepping up and leading by example. He can be expected to score a few goals over the course of the season and help to make Cardiff a strong defensive side, especially at home. He's priced at just £5m in Fantasy Premier League so could prove to be a real bargain.
