Nathaniel Clyne is fast-becoming the new Leighton Baines when it comes to must-have Premier League defenders. Baines has been a fantasy favourite for years, being a top defender without the top-range price. The difference is that Baines take freekicks and penalties, though last season he actually scored less points than Clyne. At just 5.5m, Clyne is 1.0m cheaper than Baines, and has now moved to Liverpool who have enjoyed a successful transfer window so far. There's a feeling that this could be Brendan Rogers' breakout season, finally getting his project to click and push on. Clyne is an important step towards holding the defence together, and they'll be a far better outfit this time around. He's a cheap but high scoring defender.
