It's that time of year again; the Premier League season is upon us and, in accordance with that, we're all making frantic last minute changes to our fantasy league teams over at fantasy.premierleague.com. Everyone makes a beeline for the obvious talents - in recent years it's been the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez - all of whom tended to set us back eight figure sums, but what should we be doing with the rest of our money? It can be a real pain in the backside trying to decide who else to include in your team, aside from the guaranteed points scorers who cost a fortune, but we think we've got a few ideas of some of the best value for money players - in terms of how many points they'll get you - for the coming season. So, bearing in mind last season's scores (where applicable), their current value and their predicted performances this season, we're going to take a look at the players whose value will be, in terms of point-per-pound, considered an absolute bargain by the end of the campaign. So - bearing in mind we won't be including the real superstars in this list - here are the fifteen best point-per-pound buys for the 2014-15 Premier League fantasy league season (in no particular order)...
15. Kevin Nolan (West Ham United) £6.5m
Last Season's Points Total: 131. With 68 Premier League goals to his name, Kevin Nolan is one of the highest scoring midfielders in the league's history and he continues to be a goalscoring threat to this day. He scored seven goals last season and earned the same number of assists, despite missing about 1/4 of the playing minutes of the league season. This season, playing for a West Ham United side that has made some very astute signings - including prolific Ecuadorian international striker Enner Valencia - Nolan should not only continue to score goals, but his assist tally should increase too. At £6.5m - and having beaten far more expensive players like Juan Mata, Santi Cazorla and Phillipe Coutinho in terms of last season's fantasy league points tally - he'll be a very decent purchase this season.
